    Deputy Kevin Burke executed a warrant for Virgil O. McKinney, 54, of Williamstown at 10:35 p.m. Dec. 26. McKinney was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center.

    Deputy Mike Wright charged Michael Kelley, 48, of Corinth with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) at 1:47 p.m. Dec. 27. Kelley was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center.

    Col. Troy Hagedorn investigated an accident at 9:08 a.m. Dec. 1l on Crittenden-Mount Zion Road. The drivers involved were Jeremy L. Portwood, 33, of Crittenden driving a 1997 Toyota and Mark Smith, 44, of Crittenden driving a 2002 Pontiac.

  • Indictments 12-17-09

    The grand jury, which met Nov. 11, returned indictments against five people.

    An indictment means there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed; guilt or innocence is established later through the trial procedure.

    Those indicted were:

    • Robert Wayne Mullins, 18, burglary in the first degree, receiving stolen property (firearm), burglary in the second degree and receiving stolen property over $500.
