  • INDICTMENTS

    The grand jury met Dec. 7 and returned indictments against 21 people.
    The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
    Those indicted were:
    • Randy D. Dressman, Jr., 31, theft by failure to make required disposition of property over $500 but less than $10,000.
    • Krista Rector, 40, possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication and failure to notify Department of Transportation of address change.

  • DRE kicks off WATCH D.O.G.S. program

    The Dry Ridge Elementary cafeteria was filled almost to capacity with men and their children, on Sept. 1, to kick off the WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) program.

    This is the second year for the program at DRE, and it is the only such program in Grant County schools.

    The national program began in an Arkansas school in 1998. Currently, there are 5,348 registered WATCH D.O.G.S. schools in 47 states, along with schools in Canada, China, Mexico, Barbados and Puerto Rico, according to the national website for the program.
