  • GCMS INCA STUDENT

    Macy Wright has been selected as the Grant County Middle School eighth grade Incredible Inca Student of the Week.

    Her admirable work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to excel have earned her this honor. She actively involves herself in all academic areas, participating wholeheartedly, and takes extreme pride in seeing an activity through from beginning to end. Her responsible and respectful behavior makes her a role model for students, and her sound and consistent character makes her trusted by peers and staff members.

  • Williamstown plans annual spring concert May 1

    The Williamstown Junior/Senior High Schools will hold their annual spring concert at 2 p.m. May 1 in the high school gymnasium.

    The concert band along with the Williamstown Middle School band, the sixth grade beginning band and a special guest performance by members of the high school chorus will be featured.

    Bob Gregg, director of bands, retires this year, and he and his wife, Laura, will be honored with a farewell reception immediately following the concert. This will be the final public performance of Williamstown Bands under his direction.

  • Melissa Brown awarded conservation scholarship

    Melissa Brown of Corinth recently was awarded a $2,000 scholarship for non-traditional students attending Northern Kentucky University Grant County Center.

    The scholarship, which is given out twice a year, are provided by the Grant County Conservation District.

    The 33-year-old Brown is a mother of two sons, Michael and Brandon, and married to husband, Bryant. She is currently a sophomore.

    “I am honored to be the recipient of this scholarship,” Brown said. “It will be very helpful with partial tuition and books.”

  • Berea dean’s list

    Adrian Lebo of Williamstown has been named to the Fall 2010 Dean’s List at Berea College.  A student is named to the Dean’s List who achieves a GPA of 3.2 or higher for a minimum course load equivalent to 16 semester hours.

  • GCHS holds SBDM parent elections

    Grant County High School will hold SBDM parent elections for the 2011-12 school year.
    One parent will be elected to serve a two-year term. Nominations must be submitted to Tamela Smallwood at GCHS on behalf of Fran Kuechler no later than Monday, April 25. Voting will occur at 6 p.m. April 28 in the school library.
