  • Local students compete in FCCLA nationals

     

    Emily Samuel, Hayley Leach and Olivia Cahill, three Grant County High School students, competed in the STAR Events competition at FCCLA Nationals in Nashville recently. Thousands of members, advisers, alumni and guests from across the nation attended this meeting. Approximately 3,600 students advanced from the local, regional, and state level of STAR Events to the national meeting. 

  • Adkins to lead MCE

    Leanne Adkins can hardly contain her excitement for a new school year to begin.

    “On a scale of one to 10, it’s a 10-plus,” she said.
    When the 2013-2014 school year starts, Adkins will be the new principal at Mason-Corinth Elementary.

    Adkins spent 13 years as an elementary teacher at Dry Ridge Elementary before she accepted the position of Advocate for Student Achievement in 2008 and worked out of the Grant County Board of Education central office.

    Faulkner named to Dean’s
    List at Centre College

    Dean Faulkner of Williamstown has been named to the dean’s list for the winter/spring term at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.
    Faulkner is the son Kathy Faulkner of Williamstown and the late Jeff Faulkner and is a graduate of Williamstown High School.
