Belinda Furman, a fourth grade teacher at Dry Ridge Elementary, was named the April 2013 Teacher of the Month by Zimmer Motors and Classic Country 106.7.
Furman was nominated by a parent, Lisa Rogers.

“My son is in the fourth grade and this is the first year he has truly wanted to go to school. Ms. Furman goes above and beyond to bond with each child and ensure that they feel loved and cared for. She is in tune with each of her students and gives each of them the attention needed to master a topic,” Rogers wrote in her nomination.

Recently, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) recognized Raul Maya of Dry Ridge, among 63 other undergraduate students as being a Hutton scholar during their annual commencement ceremony in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.
The Hutton Leadership and Community Service program is a four-phase program providing leadership training and community service opportunities for UC students.

The Williamstown Future Farmers of America chapter held its annual chapter banquet on May 10, in the high school cafeteria. Steve Brown, the national FFA advisor for two years, was the featured guest. Williamstown is the only chapter in the nation to have the honor of hosting this well-respected leader. WHS also hosted Brandon Davis, the Kentucky state advisor, along with over 150 other community members and parents in attendance.
