  • Sherry Benefield, 65

    Sherry Ann Benefield, 65, formerly of Williamstown, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at her residence in New Castle, Del.
    Survivors include her husband, Dennis Benefield of New Castle, Del.; two daughters, Stacy Veneziano of Lansing, Kan. and  Kimber Melugin of North Palm Beach, Fla.; brothers, Daryl Horner of Ark. and Randy Horner of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Kacie Marlene Caughey of Calif. and three grandchildren.
    Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon with funeral services at noon on May 24 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.

  • Joseph Hughes Jr., 65

    Joseph E. Hughes, Jr., 65, of Corinth, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence.
    He was retired from Duke Energy and was a member of the Williamstown Fire Department, the Grant County Fire Department Honor Guard and the Stewartsville Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran and member of the American Legion Post number 534.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dissinger and a brother, Dennis Hughes.

  • Carol Thomas, 77

    Carol Ruth Brashear Thomas, 77, of Warsaw, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Gallatin Healthcare in Warsaw.
    Survivors include her husband, Redford “Bubby” Thomas, Jr. of Warsaw; a son, Randy Thomas of Walton; a daughter, Judy Thomas of Warsaw; a brother, David Brashear of Warsaw; a sister, Eva Barnett of Dry Ridge and three grandchildren.  
    Visitation was held on May 23 with funeral services at 1 p.m. on May 24 at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona.
    Burial will be in the Napoleon IOOF Cemetery.
     

  • Kiser Wilson, 79

    Kiser Wilson, 79, of Gallatin County, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence.
    Survivors include his wife, Grethel Mae Mullins Wilson; a son, Scott Wilson of Verona; a brother, Donnie Wilson of Mt. Sterling; sisters, Devonia Vance and Brenda Lockhart, both of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
    Funeral services were held May 23 at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona.
    Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.

  • Howard Peebles, 64

    Howard Dale Peebles, 64, of Dry Ridge, died Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
    Survivors include his son, Richard Peebles of Mt. Orab, Ohio; a daughter, Patricia Jansen of Dry Ridge; brothers, Philip Peebles of Florence and Larry Orme of Piner; sisters, Joan Brown of Piner, Theresa Mason of Covington, Cherry Smith of Foley, Ala. and Janice Larrison of Union; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held on May 22 at the  Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.

  • Cierra Adkins, 12 days old

    Cierra Renea Audra Adkins, 12 day old, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
    Survivors include her parents, Joe “Chip” and Dawn Becker Adkins of Williamstown; a sister, Cheyenne Nicole Adkins of Williamstown; maternal grandparents, James and Marilyn Becker of Dry Ridge; maternal great grandmother, Wanda Tebelman of Albany and paternal grandparents, Sue and Joe Adkins of May’s Lick.

  • Lula Fields, 70

    Lula Belle Fields, 70, of Crittenden, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at her residence.

    Lula was born in Warsaw on August 29, 1941 and was the daughter of the late George and Ola Raisor Johns.

    A waitress for many years at Boone Inn, Flying J and Little Shrimp restaurants and member of First Baptist Church in Walton.

  • Charlotte Fitch, 83

    Charlotte Lillian (Mondlak) Fitch, 83, of Oliver Springs, Tenn., died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Tennova Residential Hospice in Halls, Tenn.

    Charlotte was born on January 21, 1929 and was a 1946 Graduate of Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Ohio. She married Theodore Edward Fitch on January 25, 1947.

  • Patsy Howard, 63

    Patsy Humphries Howard, 63, of Williamstown, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at her residence.
    Survivors include a son, Walt Nunnelley of Berry; a daughter, Robin Howard of Williamstown; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  
    Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
     

  • John Davis, 66

    John W. Davis, 66, of Dry Ridge, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Gallatin Healthcare.
    Survivors include his sons, Jamie Davis and John Davis, both of Dry Ridge; a brother, Harry Davis of Crittenden; sisters, Tillie Mae Stewart of New Liberty and Mary Hughes of Verona and six grandchildren.
    Funeral serives were held May 16 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.
    Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Mt. Zion.
