  • Melvin Montgomery, 77

    Melvin D. “Bud” Montgomery, 77, of Dry Ridge, died Sunday, May 27, 2012. Bud was born October 27, 1934.

    Survivors include his wife, Brenda Louise Bowen Montgomery; sons,  David Montgomery of Norwood, Ohio and Stephen M. Montgomery of Anderson Township, Ohio; daughters, Julianne Nerl of Terrace Park, Ohio, Melanie Rothchuh of Norwood, Ohio and Shari Conley of Williamstown; a stepdaughter, Roxanne Spears of Summerville, S.C.; a sister, Phyllis Jackson of Mt. Olivet; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  

  • Homer Brown, 92

    Homer Brown, 92, of Corinth, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at the Grant Manor Nursing Home.

    He was a retired farmer and WW II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member and former elder at Corinth Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Brown in 1968.

    Survivors include his wife, Thelma Campbell Brown; daughters, Joyce Reynolds and  Sharon Brown, both of Corinth, Faye Leach of Georgetown and Sheila Whaley of Williamstown. He has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

  • Jeffery Stephens, 51

    Jeffery Bruce Stephens, 51, of Warsaw, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at his brother’s home in West Chester, Ohio.

    Survivors include his parents, Doyal R. Stephens of Warsaw and Mary Florence Lee Stephens of Glencoe; his wife, Stephanie Stephens of Dry Ridge; a brother, Tim Stephens of West Chester, Ohio; sisters, Veronica Bishop of Latonia, Connie Pyke of Union, Theresa Wallen of Columbia, Angie Reynolds and Kimberly Nobles, both of Glencoe and a grandson.

  • Velma Cummins, 87

    Velma Blanche Fortner Cummins, 87, of Dry Ridge, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County.

    Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Cummins, Sr.; daughters, Joyce Haubner of Dry Ridge, Janet Cummins Lee and Lisa Cummins, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Kenneth E. Cummins, Jr. of Dry Ridge; brothers, George Fortner of Southern Pines, N.C. and John Henry Fortner of Mt. Carmel, Ohio; sisters, Wanda Carr of Latonia and Garnett Hall of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

  • Mary Rust, 80

    Mary Alice Connelly Rust, 80, of Walton, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at her residence.
    Survivors include her daughters, Belenda Poteet of Dry Ridge, Valleria Rich of Cincinnati, Ohio and Kim Kidwell of Walton; brothers, Arthur Connelly of Crittenden and Frank Connelly of Kenton County; sisters, Lydia Mae Mullins of Florence, Janet Durr of Crittenden and Renie Roland of Florence; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    Funeral services were held on May 26 at the Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Walton.

  • Clara Gordon, 68

    Clara Sue Gordon, 68, of Stewartsville, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
    Survivors include her husband, Donald S. Gordon; sons, Donald Gordon Jr. of Holbrook,  Loren Gordon and Chad Gordon, both of Williamstown; a daughter, Carol Sullivan of Bromley; a sister, Sara Webster of Jonesville and nine grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held on May 29 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.
    Burial was in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
     

  • Phillip Lemons, 70

    Phillip L. Lemons, 70, of Dry Ridge, died Thursday, May 24, 2012,  in Sharonville, Ohio.
    Survivors include his sons, Phillip Lemons of Hamilton, Ohio, Kent Lee Lemons of Lebanon, Ohio and Keith A. Lemons of Dry Ridge; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held May 29 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.
     

  • Theresa Kulinski, 101

    Theresa Fiorino Kulinski, 101, of Dry Ridge, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.
    Survivors include her daughters, Rosemary Strauss of Dry Ridge and Regina Riordan of Crittenden; a sister, Mary Parisella of Brooklyn, N.Y.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at a later date.

  • Stanley Legg, 74

    Stanley Legg, 74, of Verona, died May 25, 2012, at his residence.
    Survivors include his wife, Doris Payne Etson Legg of Verona; sons, Jeffrey Legg of Columbus, Ind. and Mark Etson of Union; daughters, Beth Legg Cannell of Alexandria, Ind., Rhonda Etson of Independence and Dawn Turner of Verona;  17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held May 30 at the Verona Vineyard in Verona.
     

  • Gene Horn, 64

    Gene Horn, 64, formerly of Grant County, a resident of St. Bernard, Ohio, died Sunday,  May 27, 2012, in Charlotte, N.C.
    Survivors include his son, Vance Meeks of Ohio; daughters, Shelly Hoehn of Ind. and Michelle Anello of Ohio; a brother, Wayne Horn of Crittenden; a sister, Carolyn Rayborn of Williamstown and seven grandchildren.
    Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 1 at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home in Cincinnati, Ohio with funeral services being held at 11 a.m. on June 2 at St. Clement Catholic Church in St. Bernard, Ohio.
