  • Ruben Jr. Lewis, 82

    Ruben Jr. Lewis, 82, of Sparta, died on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at the Gallatin Healthcare facility.

    Lewis was a farmer, truck driver and a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church. He was also a WWII Army veteran.

    He was preceded in death by his siblings, Martha Jane Lehman and Jesse, Charles and Marvin Lewis.

  • Kelley Rivard, 46

    Kelley Ann Rivard, 46, of Florence, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008.

    Survivors include her son, Cary Daniel Mahoney of Taylor Mill; daughter, Kristin Nevious of Butler; mother, Scioto G. Lipscomb of Walton; sister, Rhonda Losey of Walton, formerly of Grant County; stepbrothers, Daniel Lipscomb of Florence and Gabriel Lipscomb of Walton; one granddaughter.

    Funeral services were held on Oct. 5 at the Eckler-Hudson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.

  • Grace Abner, 68

    Grace Jane Abner, 68, of Williamstown, died on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

    Abner was employed by Graham Packaging and Quality Assurance. She was also a member of Beech Grove Holiness Church.

  • Charles Reeves, 82

    Charles M. Reeves, 82, of Lexington, died on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital.

    He was born in Thompkinsville and was a son of the late Charles and Bertha Reeves.

    Reeves was a former Williamstown school basketball coach and teacher. He was also a WWII Army veteran.

    Survivors include his wife, Mary Kathleen Reeves of Lexington and son, Mitchell Reeves of Lexington.

    Graveside services were held on Sept. 30 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

  • Janet Burden, 82

    Janet Gale Neaves Burden, 71, of Williamstown, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.

    Burden was a retired self-employed owner and operator of Tommy’s Water Service and Neaves Sanitation. She also loved horseback riding, gardening and bargain hunting.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Gladys Owen Neaves; brothers, Ray “Jr.”, David, Donald, Aggie and Frankie Neaves; husbands, William Younger and Thomas Meyer; and daughter, Cynthia “Sissy” Younger Meagher.
