     Elmer Lee Vaughn, 87, of Dry Ridge, died on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.

    Vaughn was a carpenter and a Merchant Marine veteran.

  • Oscar Bell, 71

     Oscar W. Bell, 71, of Williamstown, died on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. 

    Bell was a crane operator for the railroad and an Army veteran. He was also a member at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Williamstown.

  • Inez Martin, 90

     Inez Herron Martin, 90, of Williamstown, died on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamtown.

    Martin was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Church of Christ. 

  • Robert N. Latimer, 84, Williamstown

    Robert N. Latimer, 84, of Williamstown, died on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamstown.

    Latimer was a farmer and a veteran for the U.S. Army Infantry in WWII. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Williamstown, taught a Sunday school class and was a church elder. He was also a member of the Grant County Farm Bureau, Board of Directors ASCS and a Farmer’s Home Administration Board Member.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Olive Latimer in 2007 and his daughter, Karen Davis Parker in 2001.

  • James C. Mastin, 82, Norwood, Ohio

    James C. Mastin, 82, of Norwood, Ohio, formerly of Owen County, died on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his residence.

    Mastin was retired from the Kroger Company and was a Korean War Army veteran. He was also a member of New Columbus Baptist Church in Owen County.

  • Barbara Dinser, 65, Verona

    Barbara Ellen Dinser, 65, of Verona, died on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Hospice Care Center of Northern Kentucky in Ft. Thomas.

    Dinser was a retired waitress at Stringtown Restaurant in Florence.

  • Reba Marie Bennett Ward, 87, Fairfield, Calif.

    Reba Marie Bennett Ward, 87, of Fairfield, Calif., born in Pendleton County, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at her residence.

    Ward was a retired school teacher at Vallejo High School and a former secretary in industry in Cincinnati and relocated to California many years ago with the company that had a contract on Mare Island, Calif.

    She was preceded in death by her sister, Della Caldwell and Ruth Mack.

  • Billy Franklin Bosse, 72, of Dry Ridge

    Billy Franklin Bosse, 72, of Dry Ridge, died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown.

    Bosse was a farmer and a member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church and attended Williamstown Senior Citizens Center.

    Survivors include his sister, Rose Marie Alexander; brother, Bobby Bosse of Dry Ridge; aunts, Mary Alice Hedges of Williamstown and Helen Lawrence of Tennessee; three nieces and three nephews; extended church family of Dry Ridge Baptist Church and Beaver Baptist Church in Harrison County.

  • Ruby Mae Ballard Clark, 79, Covington

    Ruby Mae Ballard Clark, 79, of Covington, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

    Clark was a factory worker for Liberty Cherry and Fruit Company. She was also a member of Knoxville Christian Church of Knoxville, Ky. and a member of the D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary of Cold Springs.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde F. Clark in 1994, sisters, Amanda Shepherd, Mary Clark and Garnett Clark and brother, James Milford Ballard.

  • Rachel Lawrence Doane, 90, Erlanger

    Rachel Lawrence Doane, 90, of Erlanger, died on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Baptist Village Care Center in Erlanger.

    Doane was a homemaker and a member of First Church of Christ in Burlington.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Newton Doane in 1989.

    Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Ann Veasey; son, Mitchell L. Kennedy; brothers, Marvin R. Lawrence and Robert R. Lawrence; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
