    • The Call to Purity Weekend was tremendous with great attendance. It appeared that everyone was convicted to make an honest effort to have more purity in their lives. The result is groups that will be meeting to have follow-up Bible studies on various subjects. For more information, contact one of the pastors or go to purelifeministries.org.

  • Have you ever said that to someone?  Maybe someone you know is hurting or going through a crisis? Maybe you know the hurt and pain and opportunities that your friend or relative is dealing with and you want God to do something big in their lives. Sometimes our prayers are for ourselves and for our crisis or problem or for an opportunity. No matter if the prayer is for you or for a friend we all want our prayers to be effective.

  • Since October members of the Williamstown Christian Church have been hearing facts and figures about hungry children and adults in the world. In January they began collecting change in blue plastic cups labeled “A Cup of Cold Water in Jesus’ Name.”

  • In our editorial conference room at the newspaper I write for, during reporter staff meetings I sit in the end seat nearest the door.
It doesn’t have my name on it, but that’s my seat.
It’s not necessarily the best seat at the table; it’s just mine. It’s where I sit.
A few weeks ago, I walked into a reporter’s meeting and Mike, another reporter was in my seat.

  • I was at a funeral recently and was asked by someone I met who was born and raised in Washington D.C.: “What do you see as the future for the church in 2014 and even further out?”  My reply was this: I see a future sifting of churches, individuals, pastors and denominations, meaning that I see the challenge to Christians, churches, and denominations growing in a way that will force people to decide whether or not to stand for historic orthodox Scriptural values, beliefs and morals.

    Church 20/20

  • You may or may not have picked up on a theme for the pastor’s column this month. Purity. What a foreign concept in our society! Nobody on TV is talking about purity. Nobody in Washington is talking about purity. Surprisingly, not many in our churches are talking about purity. The outside world doesn’t care about it, and the church is too nervous to discuss it. But here’s the reality: whether outside the church or in, we aren’t pure these days. The sin of self has led us to pursue everything but purity in our lives.
