  • Tom and Betty Trenary, of Williamstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 27, 2014.
    The couple were married by A. L. Osborne in 1964 at Mary Helen Methodist Church.
    In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held on July 5 at LaRosa’s in Dry Ridge.
    The Trenarys have two sons, Scott (Lori) and Keith (Marrita), both of Corinth. They also have seven grandchildren, Kodi, Tucker, Hunter, Caylin, Jared, Kati and Cassie.

  • A romance that sparked with the help of some Williamstown Elementary pen pals has led to the couple getting engaged.
    When WES third grade teacher Michelle Whaley and RTI coordinator Carleen Ficker were looking for a group of soldiers to write to so they enlisted the help of Ficker’s daughter, Kelly.
    The 27-year-old Butler, Kentucky native who lives in Seattle, Washington recalled meeting Captain John Benson, 27, at a cancer fundraiser.

  • The birthday of our country will be celebrated in a couple of weeks.  July 4 is a day we take time to celebrate our freedom and the birth of our nation.  We are thankful to live in country that gives us great freedom and opportunity.  Among the fireworks, the cookouts and the day off work, my hope is that we celebrate our country and freedom with opportunity in mind.

  • The Meyer Aquascapes Pondarama Water Garden will host it’s 13th annual tour June 28 and June 29. Each day will have different locations with each home only on the tour for one day.
    There are 11 features for each day.

  • Ava Johnson of Williamstown is pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Emily Johnson to Ramsey Wells, son of Robin Wells of Frenchburg and Jennifer Jarmen Wells of Winchester.
    The bride is also the daughter of the late Donald Johnson.
    The wedding is being planned for 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Fairview Christian Church in Williamstown.
     

  • The sun rises each morning and brings the light. The time changes hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second, finally the sun sets giving way to wonderful colors and a dimming light. Every day will come and go bringing yet another sunrise.
    Some of the simplest pleasures happen during this time of the day. The clouds float peacefully by, the sound of chirping birds, the blooming beauty of landscaping, a gentle refreshing breeze that just might come our way.
