  • Jeff and Susan Webster of Covington would like to announce the birth of their first child.

    Jacob Robert Webster was born on May 23, 2009.

    He weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Richard and Carolyn Ebner of Dry Ridge.

    His paternal grandparents are Robert and Mary Webster of Burlington.

     

  • She’s been called Ms. Taylor, Mrs. Utter, mom and Joe’s girl, but now Sandra Taylor Utter adds doctor to her titles.

    Utter, a 1998 graduate of Grant County High School, began her new career at Summit Medical Group in Dry Ridge last month.

    Utter always knew she wanted to be a doctor.

    “I had lots of pets and I ‘saved’ them,’” she said, with a smile. “I was so fascinated that you could breathe into a newborn puppy’s mouth and bring it back.”

  • Mae Scott, Marlene McComas and Jean Huff of Grant County Extension Homemakers were three of 630 recently attending the 71st Country Women’s Council USA ACWW Area Meeting of the Associated Country Women of the world in West Des Moines, Iowa.

  • Homer and Thelma Campbell Brown celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Sept. 13.

    They were married Sept. 13, 1943 in Tempe, Ariz. Homer was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force.

    The couple has four children, Joyce Reynolds, Sharon Brown, Faye Leach and Sheila Whaley. Their son, Carl Brown, is deceased. They also have seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    The couple have been faithful members at Corinth Christian Church.

    They currently reside at Grant Manor in Williamstown.

     

  • Vince Gabbert, a native of Williamstown, has left the Governor’s office and will gallop to Keeneland.

    Gabbert, the son of Eddie and Rosie Gabbert, served as Gov. Steve Beshear’s Deputy Chief of Staff where he had a wide range of duties including overseeing boards and commissions, constituent services and outreach to local, state and national officials.

  • Camille Woods and Joey McClanahan were united in marriage on Sept. 19 at 2380 Hogg Ridge Road in Williamstown.

    The bride was given in marriage by the groom’s father, Jim McClanahan.

    Tabatha Nelson, sister of the bride of Blaine, Tenn., served as the maid of honor.

    Brandon Jones, cousin of the groom of Corinth, served as the best man.

    Jason Fletcher, a friend of the groom, and Bradley Leonard, a cousin of the groom, both of Williamstown, served as ushers.

  • Buck and Elaine Sargent of Dry Ridge announce the marriage of their daughter, Lori Daugherty to John Cook, son of Nancy and Howard Willenborg of Demossville.

    The couple was married in Gatlinburg, Tenn. on Sept. 19 in the presence of close friends and family.

    Brittany Daugherty, daughter of the bride, was the maid of honor. Mike Reenan, a friend of the groom, served as the best man.

    After the ceremony, the group enjoyed dinner at the Peddler Steakhouse.

    The couple are living in Dry Ridge.
