  • On Feb. 20, nearly 70 friends and family members gathered at Mason Baptist Church to help Lola Sellers celebrate her 90th birthday.

    Those in attendance were her daughter, Judy Good and nephew, Lynn Carlson, both of Sacramento, Calif; her son, David and  Joyce Brantley and their children of Corinth; grandsons David and Shannon and their children, Krissy and Noah, of Columbia, Ky., Greg and Nella and their daughter, Abigail of Lexington; granddaughter, Amber Good of Las Vegas, Nev. and granddaughter, Lacy and Nick and their children, Andrew and Emily of Corinth.

  • Travis Wright and Megan Hicks of Corinth would like to announce the birth of their first child.

    Eli Lyle Tyler Wright was born at 7:38 a.m. on Nov. 21, 2009 at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He weighed 6 pounds and 9.4 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Kim and Tim Parr of Corinth and Darrell Hicks of Carlisle.

    His paternal grandparents are Cat and Shelby Jean Wright of Corinth.

    Eli was welcomed home by his brother, Blane Hicks.

  • Chad and Angie Wallace of Georgetown would like to announce the birth of their second child.

    Callie Layne Wallace was born at 10:38 a.m. on Jan. 18, 2010 at Georgetown Community Hospital.

    She weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.

    Her maternal grandparents are Doug and Patty Smith of Dry Ridge. Her maternal great grandparents are Joan Endres of Union and the late Delbert Endres and Elmer and Margie Seng of Crittenden.

  • A Corinth native is preparing to exhibit at Kentucky Crafted: The Market at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, March 6 and March 7.

    Jeff Rogers will be marketing his coffee table book, “Kentucky Wide II”, after meeting the criteria established by the Kentucky Arts Council’s Kentucky Crafted program.

    Rogers, the son of Charlene Rogers and the late Eddie Rogers of Corinth, has owned Jeff Rogers Photography, Inc. for more than 22 years and is participating in the market for the second time.

  • Shane A. Wilson has joined the United States Army under the delayed entry program.

    Wilson, a 2006 graduate of Simon Kenton High School, in Independence, will report to Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., for basic training in April 2010.

    He is the son of Cheryl Wilson of Independence and Hubert Wilson of Crittenden.

  • Navy Seaman Rick A. Krupinski, son of Louana E. Plunkett of Dry Ridge and Rick A. Krupinski of Williamstown recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

    During the eight-week program, Krupinski completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
