  • Randy and Beanna Bixler of Williamstown are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Rheanna Jo Bixler to Lenny Ray VanMeter, son of Raymond Earl VanMeter of Indiana and the late Leatha Mae VanMeter of Byrdstown, Tenn.

    The wedding will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Williamstown Baptist Church with a reception immediately following.

  • Keagan Yates and her horse, Anytimes A Goodtime  (Sweetie), competed at the 2010 American Ranch Horse Show in Murfreesboro, Tenn. in June. They walked away with a World Championship in amateur Showmanship award.

    During the week, they competed in may classes and placed in the top five and top 10.

    Yates is the daughter of Daryl and Tanda Yates of Dry Ridge. She is the granddaughter of Jake and Barbara Burgess and Berry Jo Burgess Wynn and Gene Wynn.

  • On Aug. 21, 1960, Roger Lewis Saylor and Bettye Jo Harris were united in marriage at the Corinth Christian Church. An anniversary celebration will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, in the lower level of Dalton Plaza in Crittenden.

    They are the parents of J. O. and Leo Saylor.

    J. O. and Suzanne Covington Saylor have two children, Shawn and Rebekah Saylor. Leo and Pam Clemons Saylor have four children, Jordan, Joe, Janna and Jill Saylor.

    Graduates of the Grant County High School class of 1990 will hold their 20th class reunion from 7 p.m. to midnight. Aug. 21 at the Radisson Hotel, Covington.

    GCHS Class of 2000

    The Grant County High School class of 2000 are planning a 10-year reunion from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Oct. 23  at Keystone Bar, 313 Greenup St., Covington. The cost is $15 per person.

  • Two Kentucky State Troopers have been promoted to the rank of sergeant, but only one will remain at Post 6 in Dry Ridge.

    Chris Steward, a Boone County native who has been at Post 6 for 10 years, will remain in Dry Ridge. A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Steward graduated the police academy in 2000, and began his career in Grant County. Although, he has had other assignments in the interim, he feels like this is home.

  • If Andy Warhol was right, then Linda Twehues recently had a few of her 15 minutes of fame.

    The Williamstown resident was a contestant on a reboot of the classic game show, “Let’s Make a Deal” during a trip to Las Vegas.

    “It’s pretty nerve-racking if you’re not used to things like that,” Twehues said. “There was the excitement of being picked out of everyone. There was 300 people there and they picked about 10 of us.”

    The New family reunion will be held Aug. 15 at the home of Cecil and Barbara New on New Lane, just off Corinth Stringtown Road.

  • Rob and Brandy Bosse of Dry Ridge would like to announce the birth of their second child.

    Madlin May Bosse was born at 9:27 a.m. on March 19 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

    She weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Her maternal grandparents are Philip and Pamela Dalton of Crittenden.

    Her paternal grandparents are Bobby and Freddie Bosse of Dry Ridge and Glenna McComas of Williamstown.

    Madlin was welcomed home by big brother Benjamin, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.
