    Jack and Barbara Anderson Faulkner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Williamstown Baptist Church Memorial Hall.
    The couple was married on Dec. 24, 1960, in Covington, Ky. They have two sons, Jim (Sheri) and John (Wendy) and a daughter, Deanna. They have four grandchildren: Steven, Matthew, Skyler and Colby Faulkner.
    All friends and relative are invited to share in this special celebration.

  • Thrivent Financial for Lutherans donated $1,000 to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Williamstown Police Shop With A Cop program. Calvin Herr, left and Paul Gustafson, right, gave the check to Williamstown Police Chief Al Rich and Grant County Sheriff Chuck Dills.Thrivent works through six churches in the area, including Immanuel Lutheran in Dry Ridge. This money was a matching fundraiser to a golf scramble held earlier in the fall.

  • This Another Place In Time photo features Hubert Lusby and his pet squirrel. The photo was taken when he was around 10-years-old. Lusby turned 90 on July 4. The photo was submitted by Lusby and there were no guesses.

    Dec. 28, 1995

    Fourth grade classes at Mason-Corinth Elementary taught by Gail McAdams, Jennifer Caldwell and Diane Henage reached out to children in Bosnia in the form of shoe boxes filled with toothpaste, soap, combs, flashlights and batteries, small stuffed animals, matchbox cars and school supplies. The project began when McAdams read a book to her class.

  • Hayley Frances Leach, daughter of Tom and Rebecca Leach of Dry Ridge, has been selected to represent Kentucky as Miss Kentucky Junior Teen at the 2011 Miss Teen America Pageant, to be held in Nashville, Tenn. Jan. 13-16, 2011 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

    Over $500,000 in scholarships and awards are given to young women between the ages of 12 and 19, who are active in their schools and communities and who strive to become positive role models to their peers.

  • Robert McDaniel was sworn in as Grant County coroner Dec. 14 at the Grant County Judicial Center in Williamstown.

    Judge Executive Darrell Link conducted the ceremony.

    McDaniel defeated incumbent Marylee Willoby in the November Election.

  • Rhonda Gordon and Tom Holt were united in marriage on Sept. 18 and spent their honeymoon in Daytona, Florida.

    The bride is the daughter of Bonnie Fogle of Ludlow and the late Kenneth Fogle.

    The groom is the son of Elmer and Verna Holt of Williamstown.

    The couple resides in Williamstown.
