    During the entire time I was pregnant with my youngest daughter nearly 35 years ago, my husband was also unemployed.

    How is your prayer life? For the Christian, prayer is not only a communication with the Creator of the universe and beyond, it is a necessity for maintaining a relationship with Him. Often, I am asked to pray for various needs of others, whether it is a sickness, a tragedy, or even a healing. In a relationship with God through Christ, I gladly will honor the requests of those who require prayer. 

  •  Mr. and Mrs. Elbridge Cook Jr. and family would like to invite friends to celebrate the 40th birthday of their daughter, Paula Cook. Cook is a 1996 graduate of Grant County High School. This surprise celebration will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Williamstown on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m.

    For many Christians, the four seasons reflect spiritual realities. In the spring you see new, resurrected life; in the summer you see fruitfulness, abundance and maturity; in autumn you see the paradox of a beautiful decay; and in winter you see death, a chilling reminder of spring’s terminal point. 

  • Daniel Goderwis, a freshman at Williamstown High School, is a typical teenager who loves the outdoors, basketball, soccer and karate, but unlike most teens, Daniel is an artist, Civil War historian and member of the Green River Rifles, 3rd Kentucky Infantry Regiment re-enactment unit.

    When Danny and Sharon Goderwis took their son to watch a Civil War re-enactment in Cincinnati, they had no idea of the impact it would have on him.
