  • Christians would get a lot further with their political and cultural recommendations if they were known as living examples of the good life, the life well-lived, and a morally flourishing and thus joyful community. But what is this “good life?” To begin with we should act as a community of grace, and as Christians we are uniquely positioned to demonstrate.

  • There are times when I feel like that I am on cloud nine and can’t help but hum the theme song from “The Greatest American Hero” (you know, the “believe it or not, I’m walking on air…”) ‘But, then while in mid song, for no substantial reason (like being out of coffee!!! though some might argue that) my emotions take a tail spin and then I am in the Eeyore mode singing the “Gloom, Despair and Agony on me” song from Hee Haw.  Now, let’s apply this to our faith.

  • Runners faced the coldest day yet in this cross country season as they arrived at the Williamstown Invitational on Oct. 4 at Williamstown High School.

Thirty-six schools were represented by over 700 runners. Many were huddled in blankets as they waited for their race to start, and a few even ran wearing hats and gloves to stay warm.
The day began at 8 a.m. with an open 5K race with six participants.
The overall winner was 14-year-old home school student William Perkins.

  • The Grant County Public Library is offering patrons an opportunity to see the “Makings of a Master” now through Oct. 22.

  • During the second week of July, when most kids are on summer vacation and enjoying the pool, five Grant County 4-H members were packing up to head to Louisville for the State 4-H Horse Show.

Four area students including Summer Pauly, Saralynne McKinley, Sierra Schmitt, and Katelyn Simons competed in the Contest division. The Contest Division is comprised of four events and includes barrel racing and pole bending. One additional student, Michelle Baker, competed in the Western division which included both Western Pleasure and Horsemanship Classes.

  • “Then the word of the Lord came unto me,” the old weeping prophet, Jeremiah, penned as he was moved by the Holy Spirit.

He quoted these words many times throughout the book, but there is something about the first time he said it that separates it from all others. It was at a young age that the presence of God bombarded Jeremiah’s life, as history would place him in the late teenage years or early 20’s.
