  • Pastor Appreciation Month

    This month is set aside in the Christian world as Pastor Appreciation Month. From my experience as a pastor, I want to encourage you to consider what most pastors desire when it comes to the people of the church.  Take the opportunity this month to show your appreciation to your pastor, but think through what he desires. From my experience, pastors certainly enjoy gifts, money, cards etc…. but pastors that I know desire something a little less obvious.  There are four things you can do to show appreciation to your pastor.

    • Mike and Ginger Behnker and daughters, missionaries to Nepal, visited last week.
    • Youth Service 6 p.m. on Saturday nights. Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
    • On Sunday evenings, time is spent sharing and praying for the needs of the community. Wednesdays at 7 p.m., features Bible fellowship and kids church for an hour.

  • When God’s will, our will and death collide

    I believe that God’s will is always being done  and that it is always the best way but that we as humans are constantly distorting that will just by being human really. You see, this “life” is a mixture of God’s will always at work in the world and our free wills always moving this world in all kinds of ways sometimes closer to God’s will and sometimes not.

    When we are moving towards God’s will, our spirit is alive and our hearts are steady but when we move away from it, we are wounded and experience more suffering and restlessness.

    • Oct. 6 – First meeting of Atomic Youth, with a cookout outside of their “Bomb Shelter” (the youth room in rear of the church) at 6 p.m.
    • Oct. 4 - Mid-week Bible Study starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. The kids will meet in their own area.

  • Life is a mission trip

    Jesus never built a church building. He never told his followers to come to a worship service once a week for about an hour to pray to Him, sing to Him and read His stories, and then go back to their normal way of living during the rest of the week.
