  • Dry Ridge Presbyterian commemorates 220 years

The congregation that is now Dry Ridge Presbyterian Church began 220 years ago this August.

To commemorate this event, the church will host a free organ concert at 2 p.m. on Aug. 7, featuring the only pipe organ in Grant County.
Diana Webb, retired organist and music director from Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell, will be the guest organist for this concert. After the 25 minute concert of familiar organ music, there will be a short intermission followed by a “Hymn Sing” of old, familiar hymns.

  • Lessons from a little black dress

A few months ago I bought an LBD, a “little black dress.” All good fashionistas know that every woman needs at least one LBD in her closet, because you never know when a museum opening or semi-formal awards banquet will spontaneously break out.

I bought it at a thrift store for only $35, but that’s not the point, neither is the fact that I will most likely never wear it.
