    • Rhonda’s message was from Colossians 3:1-17. Christians should clothe themselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, bearing with each other and forgiving one another as the Lord has forgiven us. The church met together five evenings to pray as we believe “prayer changes things!”

  • Resolve to allow love of Christ in our lives

So, it’s a new year. 2014. Hard to believe, huh? I guess that means it’s time to make resolutions again. What does that word mean, anyway? Well, I looked it up for you.

“Resolution” means determination: firmness of mind or purpose. That seems pretty serious! Is that how we normally approach New Year’s resolutions? With firmness of mind? With determination? I think we mean well. We start out well. But, eventually our determination wanes. Our mind gets flabby, along with our waistlines!

  • Daylight after the fog lifts

Recently, a local church pastor stopped by the newsroom to talk about depression — his.
He had just come through a second bout of it and thought it was important to tell people that Christians and Christian pastors are not immune to it. It’s not a character thing; it’s a chemical, brain thing, he said.

  • Lady Demons squeak by Lady Braves

Coming into the season with high expectations for themselves, frustration was starting to show on the faces of the Williamstown Lady Demons after winning only once in their first seven games.

But the Lady Demons were all smiles on Dec. 16 after taking their frustrations out on cross-town rival Grant County in a 58-54 district win in a game that saw the lead change 11 times.

  • Where Jesus is Kermit the Frog

A few weeks ago I met with a friend who’s a play therapist.
She works with troubled, abused and damaged children, letting them play while she observes and does some other stuff — therapist stuff — that helps them express and process their thoughts and feelings.

  • Church unity matters

I recently had the opportunity again to meet with a few ministry partners in the area.  I have prayed with these folks, shared in ministry with these folks and have come to appreciate their love for the Lord and the church.  We all share in different denominations, we all have different backgrounds and we all do things a little bit different.   The unique thing is that we have a deep affection and respect for each other.
