    • There are many, many responsibilities that go with the title of Motherhood. A mother passes on her faith in  many ways - work ethic, money, behavior and spirituality. If you want to keep your children’s feet on the ground, you need to put some responsibility on their shoulders. Pretty is what you are, beauty is what you do with it.

  • When your faith is tested

Wil Wineman was my chaplain aboard the USS Boxer and he was also my spiritual mentor as well and played a pivotal role in my spiritual life. Wil had a deep love for Christ like I had never seen and he took his faith seriously. Jesus Christ was more than a name or a concept to Wil, Jesus Christ was a close intimate friend. So when someone insulted Christ, they were insulting Wil’s best friend and Lt. Wil Wineman wouldn’t stand for it.

  • The Great Coverup of 2011

In the continuing saga of my ongoing battle over household decor with my husband, this time it’s the back sliding glass door. But before I get in to that, let me back up to say that in the first 30 years or so of our marriage my husband rarely expressed an opinion about how to decorate the house except for one hard and fast rule, I could choose any color to paint the walls as long as it was antique or Navaho white. Other than that I had free reign and I love to reign. Then he retired and all of a sudden became Mr. HGTV Design Star DIY Guy. With opinions.
