  • Church Notes Oct. 27

    Christ Community
    • All ladies are invited to attend at the church from 12:30p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays to study Joyce Meyer’s book, “Battlefield of the Mind.”  A light lunch is served first and then the lesson followed by a time of prayer. Pat Mann and Rhonda Fields alternate teaching the lessons.
    •  6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays are dedicated to Adult Bible Fellowship, youth and children.
    • 11 a.m. on Thursdays, all men and women are encouraged to come to the church to pray.

    The Importance of God’s Word

    The BIBLE, yes that’s the book for me, I stand upon the word of God, the BIBLE! That was a familiar and fun song that many of us sang as children, about the importance of the word of God.
    It cannot be overstated that the Bible is a foundation of our faith. The Word of God is central to understanding who God is and what He desires from his people. I think most believers would agree that the holy scriptures are vital. However, our actions sometimes reflect a different reality.

    • Last Sunday, Rhonda spoke on having "overflowing hope"  (Romans 15:13.

    Clarks Creek Baptist
    • Oct. 20 through Oct. 22 - Bro. Scotty McDowell will be holding a revival at Clarks Creek Baptist. Each service begins at 7 p.m., with the exception of Saturday night service and it will begin with a meal at 6:30 p.m.
    • Special music nightly along with the Creative Ministry Team performing one night.

  • “The Light shines in the darkness”

    On Sept. 11, many of us remembered where we were 10 years ago on 9/11. I t seemed like evil had won a victory over good, but now we see how the light overcame the darkness. The events of 9/11 actually brought people closer.

    We saw the heroics of ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the name of God’s goodness and love.

    • God has given us a message of salvation. The message of the cross is the gospel, the good news about Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for sin. God has given us all the message of salvation. Are you doing all you can to receive the message?
