Continuing from the last article, we’re examining the cultural weights, winds, trends and so-called friends that impede our individual and corporate spiritual progress. Let’s take a look at Distractions, Drift and Drag.

Christ Community
• Christ Community Church is excited about the future and Rhonda has been sharing her vision. God is giving the people a mind to work and move forward.

Dry RidgeBaptist
• Nov. 27 -  “Share Your Gift Service” during the regular p.m. worship service.
• Nov. 27 – Monthly deacons meeting at 5 p.m.

Bob Silvanik is anxious to learn more about Dry Ridge, especially the people in his new congregation at Dry Ridge Christian Church.

Silvanik, the former minister at North Middletown Christian Church in Bourbon County, began his duties on Oct. 1.

In order to get to know the community better, he’s been attending community functions such as the monthly Grant County Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting.

He describes himself as a “late-bloomer” when it comes to church.

The Williamstown Baptist Church is again delivering Hope Thanksgiving Day meals to shut-ins and those in need throughout Grant County. In 2010, this project reached over 550 people in the community, the largest number since this ministry started. The meals will be delivered by noon on Thanksgiving day. If there is someone in need of a hot Thanksgiving meal with all of the trimmings, contact the church at 859-824-4102 and ask for Diane. The deadline for reservations is Nov. 20.
