    Dry Ridge Christian
    • Dec. 31 - Free community dinner. We will be serving dinner from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  
    • Dec. 31 – Youth Rally from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. This is open to anyone over the age of 13 years. It will include games, a movie, praise band, and food.

  • ‘He gave His life, what more could he give?’

    Do you remember the worship chorus from the 1975 called O, How he Loves You and Me? I sang this song as a young man sitting in church. There is a line in this chorus that goes “He gave His life, what more could he give?”

    The laying down of one’s life is one of the ultimate acts of love a person can make. But Jesus was more than just a person and he actually demonstrated his love in a much stronger way that we do not even realize.

    • Dec. 18 – The church received 10 new members. Rhonda spoke on the Word becoming flesh.
    • Dec. 25 - Light brunch at 11 a.m. and then a short worship service including the children.
    • Dec. 31 - 10:30 a.m. to worship and pray in the New Year.
     
    Dry Ridge Baptist
    • Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 - The church office will be closed for Christmas.
    • Dec. 25 - Worship service at 10 a.m. All other activities for the day are canceled.

    • Dec. 11 - Children’s Christmas Program at 6 p.m. Refreshments after the presentation.
    The children’s parade float won a prize for being the best in “The Eyes of a Child” at Santa’s Wonderland.
    Anthony and Kristen Nelson, missionaries to Alaska, and their four small children were the guests for Missions Sunday.

  • A stroke of faith

    Forty-one years ago, Steve Starnes played football alongside Al Cowlings and O.J. Simpson as the Buffalo Bills fifth-round draft pick out of University of Tampa. He also played for the Green Bay Packers and the (former) Boston Patriots. He was big and burly. Then he injured his neck and his professional football career, the dream of many little boys and grown men, was cut short. Five years ago a stroke nearly took his life. I met Steve about two and a half years ago.
