  • Mission Friends collect money to help others

Big things can come from small packages, as Dee Caldwell found out recently.

Caldwell leads a small group of pre-school children, ranging in ages 3 to 5-years-old at the Corinth Baptist Church.
The six Mission Friends meet each Wednesday night and learn about missionaries and what they do. The children also learn how they can be missionaries in their community.
Caldwell stressed that it was difficult to get preschoolers to understand the concept of missionaries serving in different countries.

  • Has Jesus impacted your life?

When it rains it pours! Over the past few weeks, I have attended multiple funerals and visitations. As I prepare for these times, I like to discuss the legacy of the deceased with the family. How will this person be remembered? What are the qualities that stand out here at the end? This process usually leads me to consider my own life and legacy. What will people remember about me when I’m gone? What are the stories and memories people will have of me as they say goodbye?

  • Perfection is pressure

Back in the day, as I am prone to say, I worked in upper management for a couple of large national nonprofit organizations. As part of my professional development at one of those institutions, I got hooked up with a management consultant in Arizona. He became my “personal management coach” and we conducted the sessions by phone.

  • Men, tongues

In my defense, I had just come from undergoing a medical test done under sedation, which may or may not have loosened my tongue.
Whatever the reason, I said something that embarrassed my husband.

We had stopped at a local restaurant for a burger. I ordered the thickest, beefiest, cheesiest burger on the menu, plus fries and my husband ordered a veggie burger and a salad.
