  • Emotions can be a roller coaster at times

There are times when I feel like that I am on cloud nine and can’t help but hum the theme song from “The Greatest American Hero” (you know, the “believe it or not, I’m walking on air…”) ‘But, then while in mid song, for no substantial reason (like being out of coffee!!! though some might argue that) my emotions take a tail spin and then I am in the Eeyore mode singing the “Gloom, Despair and Agony on me” song from Hee Haw.  Now, let’s apply this to our faith.

  • Williamstown host CC meet

Runners faced the coldest day yet in this cross country season as they arrived at the Williamstown Invitational on Oct. 4 at Williamstown High School.

Thirty-six schools were represented by over 700 runners. Many were huddled in blankets as they waited for their race to start, and a few even ran wearing hats and gloves to stay warm.
The day began at 8 a.m. with an open 5K race with six participants.
The overall winner was 14-year-old home school student William Perkins.

  • My defining moment

“Then the word of the Lord came unto me,” the old weeping prophet, Jeremiah, penned as he was moved by the Holy Spirit.

He quoted these words many times throughout the book, but there is something about the first time he said it that separates it from all others. It was at a young age that the presence of God bombarded Jeremiah’s life, as history would place him in the late teenage years or early 20’s.

  • Think before you begin to master

Author Marianne Williamson said “you must learn a new way to think before you can master a new way to be.” What you think about God will determine the kind of relationship you have with Him. If you think of God as harsh and demanding, you’ll probably be afraid of God and keep your distance from Him. If you think of God as just an impersonal force in the universe, you’ll likely have nothing but a vague relationship with Him. But if you think about God the way Jesus does, you’ll get an accurate perspective that will lead you to fall in love with Him.

  • Mercy triumphs over judgement

Back when I was neurotically obsessive about making bracelets and loved them to distraction, I ran out of room on my wrists to wear them all and made some for my car to wear — car bracelets, if you will.
Using green glass and pewter alphabet letter beads, I made three car bracelets to hang on my rear view mirror, spelling out “grace,” “hope” and “mercy.”
