  • No issue too great

In the first three gospels, we find a story written from different perspectives about the woman with an issue of blood. Matthew and Luke say similar things; however, Mark goes into lengthy detail concerning this woman.
According to historians, Peter is the one who gave John Mark the details of the gospel leading up to Marks appearance in the Garden of Gethsemane. Walking closely with the Lord, Peter would have seen and heard these important details.

  • Bits, pieces, random musings about grace

It seems the older I get, the less space I have in my brain, like all the file folders in the filing cabinet are full.
More often than I care to admit, I’ll write myself a quick note intending to develop it into a column later, but when later comes I’ll have no clue what I was thinking when I wrote the note.
However, all is not hopeless, as occasionally I go through my folder of assorted notes and cobble together a column of bits and pieces and random musings in the hope that something might be helpful to someone.

  • Adjusting our attitude about first impressions
  • Like the palm tree

I may be a young man, and compared to some, a young Christian.
However, I believe that I have experienced enough in my walk with God to boldly say that God has taught me some eternal truths. I have experienced the mountaintops that cause my spirit to sore with the best. I have also experienced what seemed to be the deepest of valleys, in which I never thought, could be escaped.

  • Party like a prodigal

There’s a group of people in North Carolina who call themselves People of the Second
     Chance (POSC).
One of the things they do is throw parties -- for people just out of prison, for recovering drug addicts, for misfits, for the discouraged, for the uncelebrated and forgotten, for the overlooked and hurting, for those bowed down with guilt and shame.
What they do is backwards and upside down. The parties aren’t for the straight A student, the athlete of the year, the one who does things right most of the time.

  • Idol factory

Even if you don’t agree with John Calvin on his view of “election,” you must admit that he is one of the greatest theologians to ever live and not to mention the role he played in the protestant reformation.
Calvin has a quote that has become a theme for a sermon series that we are currently in at Revive; it goes like this “The human heart is an idol factory.”
Wow! How true is that for us as human beings?
Think about how often you and I serve other things before we serve God!
