  • Williamstown Baptist to bring Hope meals on Thanksgiving Day

Since 1997, Williamstown Baptist Church members have prepared and delivered approximately 6,000 Thanksgiving Day meals to needy families in Grant County.
On Thanksgiving Day, Judy Ruholl, a church member, will help feed hundreds of people again this year.

  • Dry Ridge Baptist pastor shares calling, compassion, challenges

Kevin Richardson has gotten confirmation through prayer, God’s word and other Christians that he is exactly where God wants him, right now—at Dry Ridge Baptist Church.

  • Desire the greater gifts

Paul, the writer of 1 Corinthians, says in verse 31 “But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.” Now the question that we as the church have to answer is what are the higher gifts or greater gifts? The only way to do this is to look at the surrounding context of chapters 12 and 13.

  • Hushing up Jesus

Years ago, I visited with a woman who sold biblical toys, action figures of Bible characters like Moses, David and Goliath and Jesus.
The Jesus doll, about twice the size of a G.I. Joe, had movable fingers and joints and if you pressed a button on Jesus’ back he talked.
As the woman demonstrated, Jesus started reciting Bible verses -- and wouldn’t stop.
I was there to interview the woman for a newspaper story and tried to have a conversation with her but couldn’t concentrate because Jesus wouldn’t stop talking.

  • Preaching still works!

My junior year of high school was when I felt the strong call of God upon my life. One specific moment during that time stands out amongst all of the rest. It was a cool, breezy night as I was walking across the street from my aunt Seresa’s to my mamaws and I almost got to her driveway when I heard the voice of God, as it thundered in my mind, “If you will preach my word, I will save your family.”
