• Tractor Supply manager appears on ‘Tough Grit’

    Kim Fister, manager of the Williamstown Tractor Supply store, appeared on the 13th episode of “TOUGH GRIT”, a DIY television show that combines rural-lifestyle experts from Tractor Supply Company with competitive team challenges. In the Nov. 26 episode of “TOUGH GRIT,” Fister taught the contestant how to properly set up a bird house, plant a tree and develop a wildlife habitat in the backyard.

  • Graduates: 56, Year: 1956, Reunion: 56 years later

    In 1956, 56 students graduated from Grant County High School and recently, a mere 56 years later they gathered for their 56th high school reunion.
    “We were just a good, close class,” said Goodloe McMurtry of Dry Ridge.

    Thirty-six of the 56 original class members were able to attend this year’s reunion held at the Dry Ridge Christian Church.
    Attendees came from as far away Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and Utah.
    “It was a good chance to catch up with everyone,” said Betty Brewer, also of Dry Ridge.

  • KSP analyst recieves member of year award

    Recently, Kentucky State Police Intelligence Analyst Mindi Thompson, a nine-year veteran from Dry Ridge Post 6 in Dry Ridge, traveled to Frankfort to take part in the Kentucky Women’s Law Enforcement Network awards ceremony.

    Thompson was honored for her outstanding performance by the Kentucky Women’s Law Enforcement Network as their member of the year. Thompson is the intelligence analyst at the Kentucky State Police Post in Dry Ridge and also works with a large group of law enforcement agencies in Northern Kentucky.

  • Adams to renew vows Nov. 16

    Robert and Evelyn Adams will celebrate 47 years of marriage by renewing their vows at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Stonewall First Church of God in Sadieville. They were married in 1965 at the Savior Baptist Church in Sadieville.

    The ceremony is given by their daughters, Karen Button and Julia Ballard and their five grandchildren. There will be a reception to follow.

    Robert is retired from the Scott County Bus Garage.
    His wife, Evelyn is retired from the Grant County Board of Education and the Williamstown Board of Education.

  • Warrington - Adkins wed Sept. 28

    Misty Adkins, daughter of David and Vicky Warrington of Verona, and Matthew Adkins of Dry Ridge, son of Dennis and Carol Adkins of Williamstown were united in marriage on Sept. 28, 2012 at the Southern Grace Bed and Breakfast in Brandenburg.

    Randy Johnson officiated the ceremony.

    A reception was held for the couple at the Eagle Creek Country Club.

  • Grayson - Osborne set date

    Kevin and Kathy Grayson of Cynthiana are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Laynee Grayson of Dry Ridge to David Osborne, of Dry Ridge, son of Barbara Osborne of Williamstown and the late Roy H. Osborne.

    The wedding is being planned for 4 p.m. on April 20, 2013 at the Williamstown United Methodist Church.

    Invitations will be sent in March.
