  • Kinstler-Edwards wed April 25

    Trina Kinstler of Florence and Josh Edwards of Williamstown were united in marriage on April 25, 2009 at Faith Community United Methodist Church in Independence.

    The bride is the daughter of Mike and Tammy Kinstler of Florence. She is a 2000 graduate of Conner High School and a 2004 graduate of Asbury College. She is employed by WXIX-TV in Cincinnati.

    The groom is the son of Lester and Barbara Edwards of Williamstown. He is a 1999 graduate of Williamstown High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He is employed by Fidelity Investments in Covington.

  • Wright, girl, April 30

    Adam and Alisha Wright of Crittenden announce the birth of their second child.

    Abby Gail Wright was born at 8:36 p.m. April 30, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Her maternal grandparents are Randy and Debbie Gill of Cynthiana.

    Her paternal grandparents are Mark Wright of Verona and Randy and Vicki Dalton of Crittenden.

    Abby was welcomed home by her sister, Kaylee and friends and family.

     

  • Gordon celebrates 98 years

    Anna Mary Gordon celebrated her 98th birthday at the March meeting of the Corinth Lady Lions. She was accompanied to the celebration by her daughter, Dorothy Gordon Altman. Gordon continued to celebrate with her family the following Sunday at her home on Cordova Road. 

  • Cooper-Nickell to wed June 20

    Janelle Gibbs of Hickory, N.C and Mark Cooper of Williamstown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristina Marie Cooper, to Brian Thomas Nickell, son of Dwayne and Linda Nickell of Williamstown.

    The wedding is being planned for 6:30 p.m. June 20 at Williamstown Baptist Church. A reception will follow at Granduer Hall in Walton.

    The bride is a 2006 graduate of Williamstown High School. She is employed by Grant Manor and St. Elizabeth Hospital.

  • Elliot-Cummins to wed June 26

    Tina Elliot of Dry Ridge and Thomas and Barb Elliot of Dry Ridge announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brandi Elliot, to Adam Cummins, son of Doug and JoAnn Cummins of Williamstown.

    The wedding is being planned for 7 p.m. June 26 at Williamstown Baptist Church. A reception will follow at JMB Hall in Dry Ridge.

    The bride is a 2003 graduate of Grant County High School. She is also a graduate of Beckfield College. She is employed by Citi Group.

  • Caldwell, boy, April 23

    Ashlee and Brent Caldwell announce the birth of their first child.

    Braxten Lee Caldwell was born at 8:18 p.m. April 23, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

    He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Doug and Mona Ammerman of Dry Ridge. His maternal great grandparents are Bud and Sylvia Conrad of Dry Ridge and Helen Ammerman of Williamstown.

    His paternal grandparents are Darrell and Brenda Caldwell of Williamstown. His paternal great grandfather is Rondell Kinmon of Dry Ridge.

  • Tomlins celebrate 40 years

    Charles and Mary Susan Tomlin will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary June 22, 2009.

    The couple was married by Bro. Thomas Baker at Mussel Shoals Baptist Church in Owenton.

    In observance of their wedding anniversary, a party will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. June 20 in the community room of the Dry Ridge Housing Authority.

    The Tomlins have two children; Billy Tomlin of Owenton and Lisa Tomlin-McDaniel of Georgetown; and four grandchildren.

    Charlie is the son of the late Henry and Amanda Tomlin of Owenton.

  • Photographer Scott featured as Artist of the Month

    Standing amid brilliant yet subdued waterfalls, daffodils, children and animals, a soft, country accent from Cecil Scott wraps around words like “aperture,” “f-stop” and “exposure.”

    Scott has been taking pictures since 1980. He is the May/June Grant County Artist of the Month featured at the Grant County Tourism Office in the Dry Ridge Outlet Mall where is digital photography is on display.

    From an eagle at the Louisville Zoo to a 1947 tractor rusting to a farm on KY 36, Scott enjoys photography.

  • McAdams’ celebrate 60 years

    Henry and Imogene Colson McAdams of Dry Ridge will celebrate their 60th anniversary June 5.

    Bro. Hank and Imogene were married by Ralph L. Records at Clinton Church of Christ in Clinton, Ohio.

    In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held June 6 at Sherman Church of Christ. The party is given by family and friends.

    Hank and Imogene have three children. Their names are; Sherry Johnson of Kalkaska, Mich., Michael McAdams of Oxford, Mich .,and Shawn Flennor of Fishers, Ind. The couple has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
