  • Moore, boy, Sept. 11, 2012

     

    Scott and Shelly Moore of Dry Ridge would like to announce the birth of their son, Averitt Scott Moore. He was born at 10:38 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces and was 19 and ¾ inches long. 

    His maternal grandparents are Jerry and Loretta Beach of Dry Ridge. His maternal great grandparent is Opal Beach of Dry Ridge. 

    His paternal grandparents are Steve and Betty Moore of Crittenden. 

    He was welcomed home by his big sister, Aubrey. 

  • Bagwell’s celebrate 50 years

    Arthur (Mac) and Nancy Bagwell III will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 3.

    Arthur and Nancy were married in Tucson, Arizona.

    In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the American Legion Hall in Williamstown. There will be food and beverages.

    The party is given by their four children, Laura, Arthur IV, Charles and Elizabeth.

    The couple has nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

  • Gabriel, Conrad awarded Impaired Driving Award

    The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety (KOHS) honored 197 law enforcement officers, including Trooper Jack Gabriel from Post 6 in Dry Ridge and Deputy Scott Conrad of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, from 164 agencies across the Commonwealth for their efforts to target impaired drivers.  

    The 2012 Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards ceremony was held at the Galt House Hotel and Suites in Louisville. Awards were presented to officers with the most impaired driving arrests in each agency and division.

  • Puralewski - John wed Nov. 9, reception planned Jan. 26

    Ed and Pam Puralewski would like to announce the marriage of their daughter, Rebecca Ann Puralewski to Roshan John on Nov. 9, 2012 at Cornerstone Cottage in Louisville.  

    A reception for the couple will be held from 2 to 5p.m. on Jan. 26, 2013 at the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.
     

  • Dade awarded scholarship

    Emily Dade, of Williamstown, is the 2012 recipient of the B.L. Ballard Scholarship. Dade attends Northern Kentucky University.
    She is a graduate of Williamstown High School and is now a junior at NKU. 

  • Barkers celebrate 60 years

    Everett and Elizabeth Barker celebrated their 60th anniversary on Dec. 31, 2012.
    Everett and Elizabeth were married by Rev. J.E. Clemons in Montgomery County. Everett and Elizabeth have five children.


    The couple has 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    Everett works at the Grant County Board of Education.
    His wife, Elizabeth is a homemaker.

  • Webster, boy, Nov. 26, 2012

    David and Crystal Webster would like to announce the birth of their son, Eli Patrick Webster.


    He was born at 5:06 p.m. Nov. 26, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.  
    He weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces and was 20 ¼ inches long.


    His maternal grandparents are Robert and Judy Grant of Dry Ridge.
    His paternal grandparents are David and Patricia Webster of Dry Ridge.
     

  • Corinth couple find love; write about journey

    Jeanine Lister and William McCann Jr. met online in September 2011 through a dating site.

    They had both been in long and short term relationships, but were looking for the “right” person to build a relationship with.
    They spent 10 days trading emails. Some containing the standard early relationship kind of information, while others contained what some may consider quirky, random thoughts, where they would finish each other’s sentence or line of thinking.

  • Dispatcher honored for quick action

    It didn’t matter that Rebecca Henry was off duty from her job as a 911 emergency dispatcher with the Kentucky State Police, when she heard a call for help, she answered .

    Her selfless act earned her statewide recognition as the recipient of the 2012 Kentucky Governor’s Ambassador Award for Courage.

    After finishing up a night on third shift on April 26, 2012, she went home to get some sleep, but a loud noise awakened her around 3:30 p.m.

  • Smallwood inducted into Union College Business Hall of Fame

    Terry Smallwood, of Lexington, vice president – investment officer of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC of Lexington graduated from Union College with a degree in accounting and business. Since then, he has been putting that degree to work, making himself one of the top financial advisors with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC.

    Since 2011,  Smallwood has been ranked in the top 25 percent of financial advisors for the company, and also has been named vice president-investment officer and premier advisor in 2011.
