  • Red Cross to host recruitment

    The American Red Cross will host a DAT Volunteer Recruitment Day at the Williamstown Baptist Church at 7 to 9 p.m. on May 29.  The Red Cross is looking for volunteers to join the Disaster Action Team (DAT).

    You must be over the age of 18 and have a valid driver’s license or ID.

    Charles and Mary Mastin and Robert and Theresa Mort are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Chrissy Cook to Justin Garnett, son of Kerry and Sherry Garnett of Dry Ridge.

    The wedding is being planned for 5:30 p.m. on June 2, 2012, at the Crittenden Christian Church.

    While some people might shy away from heights, Brandon Day isn’t afraid.

    He actually climbs poles for a living as assistant superintendent of Williamstown’s Electric Department.

    He took his climbing ability to the Cleveland Public Power Lineworker’s Rodeo, a national competition, held April 14.
    Day, a graduate of Williamstown High School, earned a spot in the top 10 competitors. He placed eighth out of 59 in his first competition.

    Larry Markesberry of Albuquerque, N.M. and Debbie Ford of Bonaire, Ga. are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jill Markesberry to Jim Thomas, son of James and Elaine Thomas of Dry Ridge.

    The wedding is being planned for August at the Dry Ridge Christian Church. Invitations will be mailed to guests.

    The bride is a graduate of Georgia College and State University. She is employed by the Grant County Board of Education.

    Clyde Dougherty and Linda Perkins-Dougherty are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Stanley Gail Perkins to Jared Michael Humbert, son of John and Donna Humbert.

    The wedding is being planned for 4:30 p.m. on May 26, 2012, at Williamstown Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the Ridge Banquet Center.

    Serving as maid of honor is Susan Elaine Dews; friend of the bride of Corinth.

    Serving as best man is John Humbert; father of the groom of Crittenden.

Zion Elementary.

    Kitty chose this date for her wedding because it marks Kenny and Rosie’s 50th wedding anniversary.
