  • ENGAGEMENTS

    Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Koebcke of Williamstown are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Natalie Brianne to Adam Keith Leach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Leach of Jeffersonville.
    The wedding is being planned for June 28, 2014.
    The bride is a 2007 graduate of Grant County High School. She is also a 2013 graduate of University of Kentucky.
    She is employed by University of Kentucky.
    He is also a 2013 graduate of University of Kentucky. He is employed by Union Pacific Railroad. The couple will reside in Texas.

  • Johnson-Wells to wed Aug. 2

    Ava Johnson of Williamstown is pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Emily Johnson to Ramsey Wells, son of Robin Wells of Frenchburg and Jennifer Jarmen Wells of Winchester.
    The bride is also the daughter of the late Donald Johnson.
    The wedding is being planned for 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Fairview Christian Church in Williamstown.
     

  • ANNIVERSARY

    Tom and Betty Trenary, of Williamstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 27, 2014.
    The couple were married by A. L. Osborne in 1964 at Mary Helen Methodist Church.
    In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held on July 5 at LaRosa’s in Dry Ridge.
    The Trenarys have two sons, Scott (Lori) and Keith (Marrita), both of Corinth. They also have seven grandchildren, Kodi, Tucker, Hunter, Caylin, Jared, Kati and Cassie.

  • Osborne, boy, June 4

    David and Laynee Osborne of Dry Ridge would like to announce the birth of their son.
    David Samuel Osborne was born at 10:42 a.m. on June 4 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. He weighed 5 pounds and 9 ounces and was 18 ¼ inches long.
    His maternal grandparents are Kevin and Kathy Grayson of Cynthiana.
    His paternal grandmother is Barbara Osborne of Williamstown. 

  • Benefit for Robert Chrisman Jr. to be held July 16

    Robert Chrisman Jr. died unexpectedly on July 10, 2014. To assist the family with funeral expenses a benefit will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 at the Edwardo’s in Williamstown. A portion of all sales purchased will benefit the family. Donations can also be made by contacting Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria at 859-635-7844.

  • Leach to compete in Miss University of Kentucky

    Hayley Leach, 18, of Dry Ridge, will compete in the Miss University of Kentucky  pageant on July 1.
    Leach is majoring in political science, writing and rhetoric and digital studies.

    Her ambition is to attend law school and become a special needs attorney. Her platform issue is “Autism Awareness-See the Able, Not the Label.”  

    Her talent presentation will be clogging to Michael Jackson’s “BAD”.
    Leach is sponsored by the Miss University of Kentucky Scholarship Organization and received a $400 scholarship.

  • GCHS junior attends Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders

    Grant County High School junior KoryBeth Whitehead recently returned home from Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL).

    Whitehead and 43 other high school students from around the state attended the five-day summer leadership conference, held June 18-22 at the University of Kentucky.

  • Thompsons celebrate 50 years

    Jerry and Rita Thompson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2017.

    Jerry and Rita were married at Knoxville Baptist Church.
    In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held from 2-4 p.m. July 2 at the Kentucky Farm Bureau building in Williamstown. The couple request no gifts.

  • Captain John Lillard, NSDAR celebrates 75 years

    The Captain John Lillard Chapter, NSDAR met at the Main Street Gardens recently to celebrate their 75th anniversary with regent, Robin Menefee presiding.

  • Lawrences celebrate 60 years

    Charles and Betty Neal Lawrence will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2017.
    Charles and Betty were married by Buford Odor at Lystra Church of Christ in Mason.

    In observance of their anniversary, an open house will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2 at Jean La Beth’s (formerly known as Hogan House) in Dry Ridge.
    The party is being given by their family.
