  • ENGAGEMENTS

    Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Koebcke of Williamstown are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Natalie Brianne to Adam Keith Leach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Leach of Jeffersonville.
    The wedding is being planned for June 28, 2014.
    The bride is a 2007 graduate of Grant County High School. She is also a 2013 graduate of University of Kentucky.
    She is employed by University of Kentucky.
    He is also a 2013 graduate of University of Kentucky. He is employed by Union Pacific Railroad. The couple will reside in Texas.

  • Johnson-Wells to wed Aug. 2

    Ava Johnson of Williamstown is pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Emily Johnson to Ramsey Wells, son of Robin Wells of Frenchburg and Jennifer Jarmen Wells of Winchester.
    The bride is also the daughter of the late Donald Johnson.
    The wedding is being planned for 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Fairview Christian Church in Williamstown.
     

  • ANNIVERSARY

    Tom and Betty Trenary, of Williamstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 27, 2014.
    The couple were married by A. L. Osborne in 1964 at Mary Helen Methodist Church.
    In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held on July 5 at LaRosa’s in Dry Ridge.
    The Trenarys have two sons, Scott (Lori) and Keith (Marrita), both of Corinth. They also have seven grandchildren, Kodi, Tucker, Hunter, Caylin, Jared, Kati and Cassie.

  • Osborne, boy, June 4

    David and Laynee Osborne of Dry Ridge would like to announce the birth of their son.
    David Samuel Osborne was born at 10:42 a.m. on June 4 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. He weighed 5 pounds and 9 ounces and was 18 ¼ inches long.
    His maternal grandparents are Kevin and Kathy Grayson of Cynthiana.
    His paternal grandmother is Barbara Osborne of Williamstown. 

  • Benefit for Robert Chrisman Jr. to be held July 16

    Robert Chrisman Jr. died unexpectedly on July 10, 2014. To assist the family with funeral expenses a benefit will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 at the Edwardo’s in Williamstown. A portion of all sales purchased will benefit the family. Donations can also be made by contacting Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria at 859-635-7844.

  • Library features ‘Makings of a Master’

    The Grant County Public Library is offering patrons an opportunity to see the “Makings of a Master” now through Oct. 22.

    The Kentucky Arts Council’s exhibit throughout the library celebrates and explores relationships between Kentucky’s master tradition bearers and their apprentices who have worked together through the Kentucky Folk Art Apprenticeship program.

  • Grant County Ridge Riders compete at Kentucky 4-H Horse Show

    During the second week of July, when most kids are on summer vacation and enjoying the pool, five Grant County 4-H members were packing up to head to Louisville for the State 4-H Horse Show.

    Four area students including Summer Pauly, Saralynne McKinley, Sierra Schmitt, and Katelyn Simons competed in the Contest division. The Contest Division is comprised of four events and includes barrel racing and pole bending. One additional student, Michelle Baker, competed in the Western division which included both Western Pleasure and Horsemanship Classes.

  • Historical society to meet

    The Grant County Historical Society will meet on Monday, July 14 at the Williamstown Baptist Church.
    Dinner will be at 6 p.m., which will be the annual carry-in picnic. Fried chicken, iced tea, plates and utensils will be provided. Bring a side dish, casserole, salad or dessert to share.
    Following dinner there will be music by the Grant County Dulcimer Group.
    During the business meeting, officer for the 2014-2016 term will be installed.

  • Dana donates to Relay For Life

  • WHS Alumni banquet May 31

    The Williamstown Alumni Banquet will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at the Williamstown High School gymnasium. Social hour and registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. The annual alumni banquet is for all graduates of the Williamstown High School and the classes of 1919, 1924, 1929, 1934, 1939, 1944, 1954, 1964,1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and the class of 2014 graduates will be honored.
