Thrivent Financial for Lutherans donated $1,000 to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Williamstown Police Shop With A Cop program. Calvin Herr, left and Paul Gustafson, right, gave the check to Williamstown Police Chief Al Rich and Grant County Sheriff Chuck Dills.Thrivent works through six churches in the area, including Immanuel Lutheran in Dry Ridge. This money was a matching fundraiser to a golf scramble held earlier in the fall.
This Another Place In Time photo features Hubert Lusby and his pet squirrel. The photo was taken when he was around 10-years-old. Lusby turned 90 on July 4. The photo was submitted by Lusby and there were no guesses.

Fourth grade classes at Mason-Corinth Elementary taught by Gail McAdams, Jennifer Caldwell and Diane Henage reached out to children in Bosnia in the form of shoe boxes filled with toothpaste, soap, combs, flashlights and batteries, small stuffed animals, matchbox cars and school supplies. The project began when McAdams read a book to her class.
A man dressed as an Afghan border police officer opened fire on NATO troops killing six Americans during a training mission on Nov. 29 and on Dec. 5, a Taliban suicide bomber blew himself up inside an eastern Afghan army base, killing two NATO service members and at least two civilians, according to the Associated Press.
