The subject of love or even strong like may make some first grade students  squirm  or even stick out their tongue, but if you want to know an honest answer to a simple question, then ask a child. With Valentine’s Day looming, here are the responses the News staff received from first grade students in Grant County and Williamstown schools.

There will be a benefit auction on March 5 at the Corinth Community Center. The proceeds will go toward cancer treatment medical bills for Evelyn C. Adams. Doors open at 9 a.m. for preview and the auction will begin at 10 a.m.
Jerry Chism will be the primary auctioneer. Donations for the auction are still needed. If you have something to donate, call 859-234-5395.

The Grant County News wants to hear about someone special in your life and why they are special. It could be your sweetheart, your children, your parents, a neighbor or family friend.

If your letter is chosen, your special someone will be featured in the Grant County News.

Most people would say that there is not much going on in the garden during the winter months. I beg to differ.  There are dozens of plants out there doing something interesting. Some are just showing their pretty bark or their sculptural quality bare of leaves. Others are just beginning to emerge and will be blooming soon, and others just have some crazy quality that allows their foliage to look as fresh and clean as a spring garden despite the fact it is covered by 4 inches of snow and has endured days of freezing temperatures.
