  • Free concert series continues

    This Saturday, Aug. 27 will be the second of three weekend concert series at the Northern Ky. Fairground on Baton Rouge Road in Williamstown.

    Featured performers include headliner Matthew Bradley. Bradley was voted I Heart Radio.com’s Top 10 Unsigned Artist in 2011.

    Katie McDaniel, a former Grant County High School student, will be the opening act.

    The concerts are free and start at 7 p.m.

  • Give Charlie A Chance

    Amanda Nicholson had an uneventful pregnancy and zero complications giving birth to her youngest of three daughters.

    It wasn’t until baby Charlotte, who the family calls Charlie, was around 4-weeks-old that Nicholson started to notice something may be wrong.

    She chalked up Charlie’s low muscle tone and inability to control her head, as much as her other daughters had, as simply an infant being an infant.

  • Summer concert series kicks off Aug. 19

    Who says you can’t go home again?

    That’s exactly what several musicians with Grant County ties will be doing as they return for the inaugural Summer Concert Series at the Northern Kentucky Fairgrounds in Williamstown.

    The free event, sponsored by Grant County Parks and Recreation and Grant County Tourism and Convention Commission, will be held Aug. 19, Aug. 27 and Sept. 1 at the fairgrounds’ amphitheater.

    Gates open at 6 p.m., with the opening show starting at 7 p.m. and the headliner taking the stage at 8 p.m.

  • ‘I don’t feel like cancer defines me’

    In May 2009, Rebecca Ailstock, was just beginning her nursing career, a life-long dream to work in the medical field.

    Ailstock, a 2005 graduate of Grant County High School, started Northern Kentucky University, in the fall semester, right after graduation.

    “I graduated in four years, because I took classes during the summer, so that I could keep up with the four-year thing,” she said. “I really wanted to get in and get out.”
