While many families are making holiday plans, others are wondering how they’ll make ends meet.
Several organizations and groups in Grant County are making plans to help families in need this holiday season.
Cash Express in Dry Ridge is collecting coats, toys, washable shoes and non-perishable food items through Dec. 15.
Items collected will be distributed by the Northern Kentucky Community Action –Grant County Center in Williamstown.
Hundreds of flag-waving family, friends and patriotic Americans packed the terminal at Louisville International Airport on Oct. 22 to welcome home veterans returning from a trip to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Twenty-nine veterans, ranging from ages 85 to 92, went on the one-day trip that was sponsored by Owen Electric Cooperative, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and the Bluegrass Chapter of the Honor Flight Network.
All were veterans of World War II, except two who served during the Korean War.
