Skinner appreciates volunteers
On behalf of myself, the Board of Education and the faculty, staff and students of Williamstown Independent Schools, I would like to say, “Thank You” to all individuals who have volunteered their time in our schools. We feel extremely fortunate to live in a community where the education of our youth is held in such high regards. Whether you volunteered in the classroom, on a trip, for an athletic or extracurricular activity, or in some other capacity please know that we consider you an essential part of our team.
Again, thank you for your dedication!
Sally Skinner,
Superintendent
Williamstown Independent School District
Goodpaster warns beware of scams
I received a phone call on April 1 from the National Debit Card Company. They are located in Raleigh, N.C. and their phone number was 919-754-8077. They stated I had lost my debit card and to press one in order to re-activate the card. I pressed one and they asked for my account number. My debit card was in my wallet. I hung up and contacted the Federal Trade Commission. Their number is 877-382-4357. They took the information over the phone and hopefully went after them. This all took place in less than an hour.
I am a senior citizen and pray that everyone is careful about giving out this type of information.
