Brandon Casselman, 26, was tased by Kentucky State Police, after he refused to surrender to them on Aug. 21.

The incident began when police were called to a residence on Oak Ridge Road around 8 p.m. They found Casselman in the middle of the road, threatening to harm himself.

According to Lt. Tom Lilley with the KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge, troopers placed stopped sticks in front of and in the rear of Casselman’s car while they talked with him.

At one point, he drove over the stop sticks and police tased him when he refused to surrender.  He was transported to St. Elizabeth Grant County and was later taken to the Grant County Detention Center.

He was charged with violation of an emergency protective order. Police found a box cutter inside his vehicle.

Trooper Chad Mills was the arresting officer. Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Conrad was also on the scene.
