The community spoke and the Williamstown School Board listened.
After several people brought up the need for mentors for students at a recent community forum, the district immediately looked for solutions.
The school board recently approved $3,800 in funding for a program that will coach 20 volunteers on how to help students with reading struggles.
One to One: Practicing Reading with Students, a program of the Partnership at NewCities, is designed to help struggling readers through the use of a volunteer reading coach.
