Williamstown to host invitational Oct. 6

On Sept. 29, the Williamstown middle and high school cross country teams attended the Pendleton County Cross Country Invitational, located at Sharpe Middle School in Falmouth.
The team had the previous weekend off and was ready to tackle the course.

Running in the girls’ Junior varsity 5K race were Avery March, who finished fourth, Ariana Yerbafria, eighthh, and Amber Perkins, 11th.  In the boys’ JV 5K race, Mahlik Hamilton placed 25th.
In the middle school girls’ 3K run, seventh graders Megan Perkins and Haley Howe had strong finishes in eighth and ninth place.
In the boys’ 3K race, finishers were: Derek Smith, 19th; Lucas Asbury, 25th; Dustin Smith, 26th; Stone Robertson, 31st and Josh Asbury, 54th. This put the boys’ team in fifth place overall.

This Saturday, Oct. 6, Williamstown will host an invitational at the high school. Approximately 17 schools will be attending. The first race starts at 9 a.m., and elementary through high school runners will be participating.
