Grant County earns third with distinguished

The Grant County Marching Band finished their regular season on a high note on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Madison Central High School in Richmond. In preliminary competition, Grant County had no official competitors, however they were competing against they band they were at Campbell County just weeks before.
Competition was going to be tough in finals as Grant County was set to compete against nine other bands, such as Adair, Lafayette, Ryle and Tates Creek. Performing at 7:30 p.m., Grant County had to bring it to the field in order to fight for one of the top placements of the evening. And bring it they did.
At the end of the night, the band earned third place with a distinguished score just behind Grand Champions, Adair and Reserve Grand Champions Lafayette.
Grant County will resume competition on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Madision Southern High School in Berea, where they will defend their three year title as KMEA Class 4A East Regional Champions.
