Jenna Webster, 9, of Dry Ridge, recently competed in the 2012 Jingle Bell 5K run for the Arthritis Foundation. The event was held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington on Dec. 8.
Webster finished first in the 5 to 14-year old age group with a time of 24.40. There were 72 girls in her age group. There were 1,242 runners who finished the race and Webster was 148th overall.
Webster received a medal and a backpack for her award.
Webster also won first place in the children’s costume contest, winning a certificate and gift card.
On Thanksgiving Day, Webster ran the Thanksgiving Day 10K race in Cincinnati. She finished with a time of 55.04. She placed 68th in the 15 and under age group of 432 girls. Overall, Webster placed 3,431 out of 14,862 people that finished the race.
Webster began running to stay in shape for soccer. She is a forward on the Cincinnati Kings U12 Premier team, on which she plays year-round.
Webster is the daughter of Chris and Mandi Webster of Dry Ridge and sister of Hannah and Caron. She is in Melissa Colson’s fourth grade class at Dry Ridge Elementary.
