UK names students to dean’s list

Thirteen students from Grant County have been named to The University of Kentucky’s dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester.

To make a dean’s list in one of the UK colleges, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher and must have earned 12 credits or more in that semester, excluding credits earned in pass-fail classes. Some UK colleges require a 3.5 GPA to make the Dean’s List.

A total of 4,166 students achieved Dean’s List recognition.

The students from Grant County on the UK dean’s list are:

Crittenden:

Courtney Alexis McPherson, a junior, studying elementary education in the College of Education

Dry Ridge:

Michael David Afterkirk, a junior, studying accounting in the Gatton College of Business and Economics

Emma Mary Huff, a seior, studying animal sciences in the College of Agriculture

Nathan Wayne Kitchens, a sophomore, studying political science in the College of Arts and Sciences

Lana Claire Martin, a junior, studying middle school education in the College of Education

Stephanie Jane Melton, a senior, studying merchandising, apparel and textiles in the College of Agriculture

Megan Anne Schultz, a freshman, studying biology in the College of Arts and Sciences

Daniel Patrick Shields, a freshman, studying pre-integrated strategic communications in the College of Communications and Information Studies

Lindsey Carol Wright, a senior, studying nursing in the College of Nursing.

Williamstown:

Lindie Nichole Huffman, a sophomore, studying career and technical education in the College of Agriculture

Torrance Lorraine Holzman, a senior, studying elementary education in the College of Education

Jordan Dale Kells, a freshman, studying agricultural economics in the College of Agriculture

Timothy Alan Twehues, a junior, studying animal sciences in the College of Agriculture
