Three Corinth firefighters were among 1,200 Kentucky firefighters who learned new techniques in firefighting and emergency care at the 67th annual Fire School at the University of Kentucky which lasted three-days. These attendees were Gary Nipper, George Settles and Garry Mosley.

Dennis E. Stanley of Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown and Hamilton-Stanley Funeral home in Verona was elected at the annual convention of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky as a 1996-97 district leader from Northern Kentucky.

Seven Grant County Middle Lady Warriors made the 20-member all-star team at Morehead State’s basketball camp. Campers included Joy Wagner, Heather Reed, Misty Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Johnelle Brill, Kim Hall, Kim Wagner, Becky Parnell, Leslie Marquardt, Amy Bowling, Tracy Wright, Christa Worthington, Kristie Cruey and Stacey Wright.

Beth Sininger was employed by WTVQ Channel 36- Lexington, as an audio operator. Sininger was a student at Eastern Kentucky University where she worked as a production assistant.

July 14, 1961
Glenn Collins graduated with High Distinction from the University of Kentucky which requires a 3.6 or higher for three years at the university. Collins received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and graduated with a standing of 3.96 as well as numerous other accolades.

Mrs. Jeff Webb joined the staff of the Grant County Health Department on July 1. Mrs. Webb is a graduate of Good Samaritan Hospital’s Nursing School, Cincinnati. She replaced Mrs. Jennie Poor who transferred to Owen County Health Department.
