Crittenden Mayor Martha Hicks presented former fire chief Larry Harp with a commendation from state Senator Ernie Harris at the city council meeting. Harp was recognized for his 17 years of service to the Crittenden Fire Department. He has logged a total of 37 years as a firefighter.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Kyle G. Conrad, son of Christopher M. and Judy L. Conrad of Dry Ridge, recently graduated from the gas turbine systems mechanical course. Conrad is a 1998 graduate of Grant County High School and joined the Navy in October 1998.
