A state trooper crashed his cruiser on May 19 while transporting a prisoner to jail.
The wreck occurred at 1:22 a.m. on Ky. 22 when the cruiser driven by Trooper Ron Gilbert slid off the road in a curve and struck a tree.
Gilbert and the prisoner, Justin Malott, 19, were taken to St. Elizabeth Hosptial Grant County were they were treated and released.
Malott, of Williamstown, was then lodged in the Grant County Detention Center. He had been arrested on a felony warrant. State police are investigating the crash.
