Trenary competed for Miss Kentucky title

Thirty-two contestants represented local scholarship pageants from across the state for the title of Miss Kentucky 2014.
Dakoda Trenary, 21, of Corinth, carries the title of Miss Heartland and represented the area. She is a student at Morehead State University and performed “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2” on the piano. Her platform is “Learn, Earn and Return.”
She is the daughter of Scott and Lori Trenary.
The pageant was held at the Singletary Center for the Arts on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Preliminary competitions were held on July 10 and July 11. The final night of competition with the crowning of the new Miss Kentucky was held on July 12.
Ramsey Carpenter of Ohio County was chosen as Miss Kentucky 2014. She will represent Kentucky in the Miss America Pageant, which will be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, September 14, from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The new Miss Kentucky will also speak in schools across the state on behalf of the “Kentucky Proud” program for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, promoting the importance of supporting and purchasing products grown and manufactured in Kentucky.
All proceeds benefited the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Organization, a 501c4 non-profit scholarship program.
