Two golfers made it to state, but still wanted to do more than just make an appearance.
Ali Rich, representing Williamstown, and Zach Wright, representing Grant County, each earned their way to state by qualifying at their regional tournaments. They both had hopes of making the first day cut and competing for the state title on the second day, but each missed the cut at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Rich, a sophomore, shot a 92, six strokes more than the cut of 86. Wright, also a sophomore, shot an 83, five strokes more than the cut of 78.
